The Alpha's Return

Chapter 19 - Everyone Arrives

.

"I was barely stopping myself from asking them for a selfie. I mean, when would I ever get this opportunity?", another said.

"Why did you stop yourself. You should be like me. I don\'t have any such hesitation.", the former beamed as he showed a photo of him and Angela on his phone.

"Damn, you got a photo? Lucky, maybe I should try my luck later", the latter sighed.

"Tough luck there. Boss just informed everyone that we are not allowed to ask them anymore. Something about not offending them, and keeping our lives.", the first man said.

"I don\'t get it. How did the boss know these people? Doesn\'t make sense.", the second said.

"I have no idea. Buy all of them keep talking about some one, the red wolf. I don\'t know who that is. Must be some code name or something.", the first said.

"Why don\'t we just do an internet search?", the second said.

"Do you really think that I have enough time to take out my laptop? Boss is really quick tempered these days. He wants us to work our butts off all day and night."

The second shrugged and he took out his phone. He typed it out in his phone, and then read out,

"The red wolf is meant to symbolize the menacing Soviets to the East but could also be an allusion to the wolf Fenrir, son of Loki, who is a key character in two Norse stories. In the first, Fenrir was brought up in the home of the gods, Asgard, but he grew so large and fierce that only the god Tyr dared to feed him."

"Wait a minute! I heard the name Fenrir before.", the first man dropped the saw in his hand and looked at his friend\'s phone. As if sensing people slacking off, a hand came from behind and snatched the phone away. After glancing at the phone, Michael looked at the two men.

"Back to work. And, no one knows about the red wolf. NO ONE. Do I make myself clear?", Michael barked.

The two men nodded, and they hurried away. Michael glanced at the phone again, and the internet search. He sighed, "How long am I even going to hide this from them? They are going to know anyway. Soon enough.", he said to himself, as if trying to convince himself.

"Looks like you have a few problems of yourself. Keeping a pack is not an easy task. I certainly was surprised when I heard that you let go of everything and did that.", a voice came from behind Michael. Michael turned back and looked at the source of the voice, a man. He looked Indian in ethnicity.

"Praneeth. What are you doing here? Let\'s go back inside.", Michael said and he left the area. Praneeth nodded, and he did the same.

In a room, there were six people gathered. They were all the guests that Michael had called. They were all talking about something.

"Where the hell is Lucas in all of this? I did not travel thousands of miles to look at Michael\'s face.", a man spat out.

"Maybe you didn\'t, but I certainly did.", Angela said, flirtatiously. She bit the frame of her glasses in a display.

"All that doesn\'t matter. The goal is to make sure that Lucas does not go out of control like last time. And what is this about his betrayal? We aren\'t going to just watch him go and kill hundreds of people, right?" a woman spoke out.

At this point, the door opened, and Michael and Praneeth entered in. All the people in the room nodded at Praneeth, with respect.

Praneeth was the odd one out, in all of the people in the room. he looked the youngest, like a teenager. But, he spoke as if he was the oldest.

"Lucas will come here soon. I am sure that whatever preparations he had to make, they are over right now.", Praneeth said. He took a seat at the high end of the table.
